The Tornado Preparedness Tiny Course will provide a family with the knowledge and recommended resources to be better prepared should a tornado impact the area where they live:

  • Learn why tornadoes are often considered the worst of the disasters.
  • Learn about the dangers of tornado derivatives (derechos, gustnadoes and the the various tornado types) that may impact your home and your safety.
  • Discover the three areas of preparation a family can take to prepare for a potential tornado.
  • Learn how to protect extended members of your family (children, other family members living with you, pets, etc.) from a potential tornado.
  • Learn how to prepare before a potential tornado strikes, what to do during a tornado and the safety steps to take after a tornado passes through.
  • Learn about other additional tornado safety resources a family can use to protect their home.
